I'm Baaaack....

at Bronte Beach
at Bronte Beach

Ahhhhh...

That's the sigh of a relaxed, rested and rejuvenated Jen.

After seven days of night shifts, two of which were 12-hours straight, a wedding one weekend and the U2 concert the next; I needed a week off to just do nothing. And that's just what I did. Although I was "away", I didn't go anywhere, or do anything, which was exactly the whole point of this exercise.

It was nice to just wake up and take it easy. I got re-acquainted with my couch and remote control and indulged myself in the sick voyeuristic pleasures of daytime television. It’s a necessary evil of which I am content to succumb to. But not only did I drown myself in daytime TV, but I did also go out and enjoy myself in this beautiful city of Sydney; I may be partial to her as she is my home city, but there really is no place like home.

Hello and welcome back Jen! :)
That's a beautiful photo of the bridge at night. Glad you are well rested :) Nothing better than a week of veging to get you back on your feet! Looking forward to see you back in baking/cooking action :)

Glad you are back. Wanted to say thanks for the World Peace cookie recipe. made double. one lot for the biscuits; one lot for the cookie dough monsters that stalk my fridge...

That beach looks wonderful. I have to block it out though.. seeing as how each time I step outside it's to blowing snow. Snow is just as nice as sand... yes, just keep telling myself that.

Tanna- Thanks, although the break was great, it's nice to be back.

Shaz- I have been to a few great cities around the world, however I have to say that nothing beats Sydney. Just look at our harbour!

Jules- Thanks! I think every Sydneysider and every person that has visited Sydney can agree that we have ourselves a great place right here.

wheresmymind- Thank you! Cocoa and I are back in the kitchen and cooking up a storm!

ilingc- Thanks, it took a few attempts to get the right light and to get the camera still as I just had it propped up on an apartment ledge.

Don't worry I cooked and baked while "away", and I still have some left to share : )

Foodkitty- No problems, I'm glad you and the dough monsters liked them. Isn't Dorie Greenspan just splendid!

Fracas- You might be interested to know that about a week ago, we had a freak cold spell and it actually snowed a few hours away from where I live. The weather here has gone crazy!!

Yvo- I know what you mean, sometimes doing nothing is just the thing you need.
